Long story short….we made a trip to Hawaii…… Maui and Kauai specifically, and it was all kind of at the last minute.
8 weeks ago, I had a one month Europe trip planned for Lizzy and I as the boys were supposed to be tied up at various camps and work engagements and at the last minute everything changed.
All a sudden everything was switched around so we could meet Brian who was going to be flying through on his way home from Tokyo…well not really flying through….but when you live with a travel agent…I made it so he detoured to the islands before hitting the pavement again.
I cancelled Europe, yanked one of the kids out of camp that he really didn’t want to go to and away we went.
First stop, Maui…and it did not disappoint.
We jumped right into scuba diving for Noah. He has done it before in Mexico and loved and wants to get fully certified. He did two dives here and I love the photo of him with the turtles.
As soon as we got over a tremendous amount of Jet Lag….(it is no small feet to travel from the East Coast to the extreme western end of the United States), we started to enjoy where we were at.
We took the Road to Hana which for me was the road back to the hotel. To many turns and twist to help this stomach. The kids were bored sick of Maui’s most scenic drive so we turned around half way.
Maui consisted of doing absolutely nothing besides connecting with the kids and swimming….it was dream city!
