Like the rest of the nation, school has started and it is the beginning of a new season for everyone at our household.
To top it off, this is the first year that we will have a college student living in another part of the country- Utah!
Chase started last week and is loving his switch.
He is full blown into the football season and is starting at defensive linebacker tonight due to a senior injury last week in pre-season play.
He is hoping to maintain that spot as a sophomore. He was starting at his last school, but transferring put him back in the line up and he is still working hard to maintain a position at a new school with new coaches.
The switch has been so great for him. He is so much happier and his future looks so bright.
I can tell a huge difference in his overall attitude,
Plus for me the uniform makes a huge difference.
The kids look so much sharper. Even though he had a dress code at the last school they were much more lenient and I thought often the kids looked trashier.
Phase 2 began with Tuesday with flying Hillary out to BYU in Provo, Utah to start her year.
We had to strategically pack all though it didn’t appear that way.
We spent our first day getting her ready and buying everything she needed to make her first dorm experience a good one.
Her dorm is apartment style, so there was nothing like buying everything you need to start kitchen living.
I was in pain all day, not because she was leaving (although we are sad) but at 7:00am, I had a huge dental procedure done. I couldn’t hardly sleep last night with the pain.
I feel better this morning. Just yucky timing right when you are trying to move in.
Orientation starts today and it is a full agenda. It should be pretty fun.
This chick is pretty excited to be here and as a homeschool parent of 7 years with her, I couldn’t be more excited to see her college dreams come true.
This will be the first year, that she is really on her own, although she is landing there with 60 hours of college already completed.
Brian and I both loved our college days and our memories at BYU. This is such an exciting time. We keep telling her to enjoy every single second of it.
