Time to blog- Guess where I am for the next month? In Asia! We made it to Beijing, The Forbidden City and The Great Wall!
Yep I am on day 4 of my long trip and it is 4:27am and I am jet lagged central.
We made it 20 hours to our 1st destination of Beijing and checked that off of the bucket list. Not sure I will ever have to come back.
I am travelling with my 75 year old father, who I have gone around the world with especially over the last decade.
I am so lucky to have him as a father and I enjoy his friendship just as much.
We are travelling a week in China, before we meet Hillary and pick her up from her program in Hong Kong next Monday. Can’t wait to see that girl! It has been a long, but short semester having her gone.
You know me, I am not about to pass up a travel opportunity one bit. We have been planning this for 6 months.
The last couple of days we have been in Beijing, where we visited The Forbidden City, The Summer palace, took a Hutong ride and saw Tianemmen Square. In hindsite, I wish we would have had one more day there to do the Temple Heaven and the Lama Temple.
Don’t be confused I look older and more wrinkled by the day….uggghhhh where has time gone?
The Forbidden City was absolutely stunning.
We walked until we couldn’t walk anymore and consumed about 1000 liters of water.
Food is a struggle here, I won’t lie. I am hoping I drop 10 on the trip, because I am eating hardly anything. My appetite isn’t as strong as my headaches and jet lag, I am surviving on breakfast at the hotel most mornings.
Here is a couple of iphone photos to get this blog month started. Tonight, I hope to unload some of my photos and put up some good shots of the trip.
I loved this stop it was so peaceful there.
And finally, The Great Wall, it is simply amazing! To stand there and be apart of something so historical was absolutely incredible. All I could think of was the Disney movie MULAN. Sure glad that was my educational training for the trip. Ha ha!
