Let’s do a quick flash back to Christmas.
We have never really discussed it and I am dying to document it.
We took our kids to Cancun and decided to celebrate with week long visit to the Mayan coast which was outstanding. We stayed below in the Cancun JW Marriott. It was to die for.
We decided to surprise them and told them about a week before Christmas.
The younger kids were not amused! Yet, we were both elated. Soon they were saying it was the best Christmas Eve ever.
Cancun boast some of the clearest, bluest water in the Yucatan Penisula and after the hurricane about five years ago, they rebuilt the coast and surprisingly enough, it is a fantasatic destination again.
We have been selling it at my travel agency for 25 years, yet, I had never made the trip myself.
The time was right and we headed out on our little adventure for Christmas.
Christmas Eve was the best Christmas Eve we have ever had as we went to an outdoor, Mayan attraction called Xel-Ha.
Xel-Ha is a natural winding river where you can river raft, snorkle, cliff jump, climb ropes and ride bikes.
We had a fantastic time all working together to have fun.
One of the biggestt hits was cliff jumping. I even mustered up the courage to jump myself. Bring it on…..I was scared to death, but the kids were encouraging me so much I couldn’t let them down. Luckily, no photos were fired.
The boys must have jumped, oh let’s say 100 times. It was a good energy burner.
Even the girls decided to jump…. But you couldn’t take cameras in and had to rely on the camera people there to snap your shot. Hillary’s photo went missing. Liz’s shot was captured. I couldn’t believe she dared go for the plunge.
One of my favorite parts of the day was watching the sun go down with Chase. It was magnificant.
Oh the beauty of this world…
Post activities, there was lots of family bonding going on….so fun! These guys look a little trashed but if you would have seen how hard they played, you would know why!
