The time is coming…Hillary is almost out the door to live in China.
She is down in NYC today and hitched a ride with Brian who is working in Mid-town Manhattan.
She is getting our visa’s for a couple of countries that we want to visit after she is finished.
You bet I am going to Asia to pick her up and my dad is going with me! It may be the highlight of my life.
Sure she hasn’t even left yet and I am already planning her arrival home It gives me something to look forward to on a windy, cold weekend.
She is departing from Hong Kong and we will meet her there! I haven’t been to Hong Kong since my college days.
This is one of our stops….I will let you all savor this piece of photography for the moment.
I spent most of the weekend glued to my computer putting this trip together while Brian and I were at Stowe, Vermont at his Orthopedic Meeting. I probably have an easy 40 hours invested in planning alone. Which makes me wonder why more people don’t use travel agencies?
I had several hours of down time while he was in meetings and so I sat by a fire in the lodge and pounded out what could become my finest itinerary ever created for travel. I am not being modest here as you can tell….I love to create the dream trips for my clients and I love it even more when I create one for myself.
I figure I have to do this one a budget, but I have to maximize the heck out of my time.
When a planning a trip…I always think…”Hmmm if this was my last trip would I be completely satisfied? I most often say “YES”!
When I asked Hillary what she wanted to do, she replied “Ride an elephant!”
We have decided to spend our time in Southeast Asia and skip mainland China which she will have already seen during her program and my dad has been there as well. Brian and I have both been to Hong Kong, so we will do mainland together one day. Mainland is tricky because of the distance in between places. There is so much to see and do there that is trip in itself.
One of the places that is on my dream list the last couple of years is this stop at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. I am pulling strings on every level to get there and make this happen.
Raise a toast to dreaming and making things happen…Now I have to get planning and saving to make this become a reality!
