Confession # 1- I have never been to consistent in the kitchen!
This whole entire month ..I have been improving my cooking.
Yep, we have been cooking everything from scratch. Don’t die…but I can never keep to a kitchen cooking/ maintenance program.
When I do cook…I cook well! My dad, Kent, has trained me well.
I can cook the huge Sunday dinner with ease, but I am not great on the weekday meal.
Sure, I get on these kicks every once in a while, but this time I am going strong and I am happy to report….this January resolution for 2013 is off to a strong start.
For years, we have baked whole wheat bread from scratch and we absolutely love it.
I use a Bosch Universal plus to get the job done.
My 10 year old Bosch that we bought when we first moved here finally bit the dust. Secretly, I was happy about it because I love the new one, which is different shaped and runs like a champ.
I have been sending both of my kids to school with lunch every day. Don’t get to excited, I have had kids for over 18 years and finally this is the first year I have been consistent with school lunches…much easier to write the check in the past.
Chase and Elizabeth love my lunches and I am finding an unusual amount of pride in this small feat.
Joy in the journey people.
Chase has been getting loaded up on my home made cookies daily, yep, I even baked some cookies at 6:30am for him, when I discovered that the troops ate my hidden stash in the freezer over the weekend.
My new delivery program for groceries is really helping me have ingredients on hand, that I usually forget to buy when under pressure.
This morning it was easy to pump out this Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie Recipe without even dipping into the cookie dough….
Confession # 3
Cookie Dough is a weakness!
I just found starting at 6:30am baking is not a temptation to eat like 3:00pm is.
Confession # 4
I have always had a rubbermaid obsession and this morning before 10:30am, I am revamping the rubbbermaid drawer.
I hate the clutter and I hate the mess as I look for some creative container in my drawer. About once a year, you need to do this…believe me!
Four cupboards are getting overhauls and the fridge is getting cleaned out…because guess what? The groceries are coming today!
Wow…I have reached rock bottom…but I like where I am at!
