This past weekend we had a huge change of plans. For months, we have been trying to put together our next humanitarian mission for 2013 from scratch.
Nothing has worked out and every door seemed to shut until this weekend, we stumbled upon the right opportunity with the right group of people in a country we never thought of …..
Wait for it…….Nicaragua!
I have been working 24/7 with Brian and the kids to get everything in place to leave this winter.
There have been tons of things to organize and tons of people to contact to get everything set.
Nicaragua is the right place to go and everything fell into place once we found out what we needed to do.
The great thing is Brian is joining me on the mission trip…which is a rare treat since it is usually me and the kids.
The location- a remote village with no power, internet, water, garbage dump issues & educational problems all compounded to make Nicaragua the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
I never in a million years had that on my list of “must visit” destinations, but after viewing a scene in Mexico and Costa Rica that has been on my mind- time and time again….and putting 5 years of research, we feel passionate about what we are going to accomplish. More to come on that later.
