It is hard to get excited about anything except crawling underneath the sheets and hibernating for the entire winter with temperatures like these.
Despite the cold, I am trying to make some steps forward and see the positive in today.
Noah is in Utah skiing and I have a couple of days off without kids at home during school hours, but the schedule still ticks on. I have already done two and half hours of parenting and carpool and it is only 8:19am. Truth is…I crawled back into bed for heat. I may not get back out.
I have been talking to my kids a lot about how one resolution everyone needs to set in the family more and that is laughing. I just find as I am aging, I am laughing less, because everything seems so darn serious all the time. Finances, kids, job stress, college worries, growing pains, grades…you name it…it has brought us to the serious side of life.
I want to laugh more….a lot more. That means you have to look for things to laugh about and drop the defensiveness.
This simple idea will make my resolution # 2 for 2013…Laugh! I am laughing out loud right now…laughing at the temperatures, laughing at my laziness, laughing at my laundry and my dishes….ha ha ha ha …..laughing all the way
