Our Thanksgiving holiday started nice and early with a trip to the Annual Turkey Bowl in Manchester, NH where Chase’s high school team, Trinity, played Central High School for the trophy. This is like a 30 year tradition, the two top winning teams in the city battle it out at Guil Stadium and being a warm un-usual 55 degrees, the place was packed with a million people. The band was playing, the cheerleaders were cheering and hot chocolate was being sipped by our entire family including my parents who were in town from Utah.
You can read more about the game here in the newspaper.
I love this photo with Chase and his friends!
What a treat to have my parents here to see Chase play.
After a disappointing loss in the state tournament, we ended up winning as underdogs against the division I team.
The game is only a game of pride, but that is what makes high school football so fun. You play for the pride of your school.
Here are the seniors in the final game with the trophy.
I have so many things to be thankful for and they were all sitting around the table that day.
That night the whole family went to see Lincoln at the theaters and Elizabeth and I sat by the fire and watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving …..a tad bit more appropriate for a new 9 year old. It was a toasty evening.
