Let’s take a little visual tour through Sorrento. It is going to take months to put up the photos from my recent rendezvous in Italy.
This was my second time I have stopped in Sorrento and there is no question that the Amalfi Coast is one of my favorite places in Italy. The color, the food and the charm….begs you to come back….sooner than later.
The central square in Sorrento is something right out of a film.
Sharing the experience with my son Noah, was one of the highlights of my life.
I have now taken three of my children there. Next time, my husband and Elizabeth. You can never go to Italy to many times.
It is everything that you want Italy to be and more. Sorrento is situated right next to Naples, which means the Pizza is to die for.
This part of Italy is all about cafes, high end shopping and eating.
Last time we visited we came in by hydrofoil and the darting cliffs make it unmistakably one of the most photographed spots in the world. This time we drove the twisty road to our destination.
On of the things that I love about this area is that it is so relaxing compared to Rome and Florence.
If you don’t mind everything being a little squishy and crowded during tourist season, Amalfi could be for you. Or…be smart and go in September during shoulder season.
A trip just to the Amalfi Coast might be in the cards. You could spend a lifetime exploring the three or four towns on the coast and the Isle of Capri.
Next European post, I will highlight our early stop in the morning to Sorrento’s neighboring city of Postiano……to die for!
