I just got back from a media interview with NHPR. I am a little frazzled. The interview was about me and my family being a mormon in New England.
After you give and interview or a speech, you always look back with some regrets. Regrets of things you wish you said and wish you didn’t say.
Overall, I think it went fine and I am breathing a little bit easier today.
It was a beautiful day at the Joseph Smith Memorial where we had the interview and the director is fabulous.
Let’s switch Gears….
2. Friday Night Lights
We had two football games this week in Timbuktu…
At least 2.5 hours away last night in North Conway and we played Lebanon earlier in the week. I could have flown to London faster than the drive yesterday, but as a visual blessing…. we got to view the leaves that are absolutely gorgeous. Chase had a big 70 yard run last in the varsity game, he has four varsity touchdown on record.
He got tackled so hard last night trying to run it into the end zone….. that he didn’t get up for five minutes. As you know, that is about the worst feeling, watching them lifeless lying there. Luckily, he only had every breath of life knocked out of him….and about five minutes later he was up and going again.
He is starting defensive corner back on varsity in this week’s game so the pressure is on. This is a huge passing game and for you non-football fans, corner back is the one who intercepts the pass or the last one to tackle on a big run. It is the position that you stress about as a parent.
3. Finally, Travel is picking up this season, this week I have had a several sets of repeat clients going to Beaches in Turks and Caicos, Maui, Hawaii, New York City and a huge family reunion in the Caribbean.
I love it……I love that people are spending money and doing outstanding vacations together. I hope the travel economy continues to press forward. I still love planning travel more than any other job/hobby in the world.
4. Brian gets home today and has been gone for 9 days…he did pop in Monday to drop off the kids who travelled with him last week, apple pick and grace us with his presence and then he flew out after the event.
I am looking forward to a long weekend with him as he is around for the next bit. Yeahhh!
