I am not quite up to functioning speed yet since I returned home less than 36 hours ago.
Upon arrival, I immediately went into mother damage repair mode.
First on the agenda, getting Chase help from his French teacher. He was struggling in that class and the thing I love about his new high school is that they are so willing to help. His teacher is from France and he struggles to understand.
Chase has been struggling to keep up the school pace that starts at 6:00am and ends at bedtime. He had three football games this past week and his school is quite rigorous on every level.
Next, Brian and I confronted Hillary’s harp teacher, who was about to drop her as a student after her lesson last week. Definitely not a good thing considering it took years to get into her. We managed to save the relationship and Hillary will continue to study with her until she leaves to China. She simply wants to play some pop music on the harp and her teacher is 100 percent classical.
I have never met anyone quite like her, but a comment made by my mother in law while I was gone to her, sent her into a verbal unleashing on Hillary. Overall, Hillary needs to be more committed and practice more and we probably shouldn’t send my mother in law to lessons with her in the future. Hillary’s teacher is probably the best in the country and in the business, high respected on every level and doesn’t mind putting you in your place. It ended up being a win-win for everyone involved.
Later, we went to Chase’s varsity football game at Lebanon where they won 56-6 and he scored a touch down. That is his fourth varsity touchdown this season.
It is fun to watch Chase play, but that game was a snoozer and a total blowout.
Digital Mothering Mode
In the meantime, I am brain damaged, the finances and laundry need to be caught up and I bought myself the iPhone 5 yesterday.
No I didn’t really need the iPhone 5, but do I ever need an Apple product? I lucked out when I walked into the Verizon store, they had one more…I didn’t even realize that they even came out yesterday since I was in Europe with relatively no computer access. Brian loves to spoil me so he splurged! Hillary is elated, I am excited for her to have one and be able to instragram and send me photos of her events.
Hillary needed a new phone so we gave her my iPhone 4s and Noah received hers….there you have it.
