I have been really tied up this week and last with my job with public affairs for my church.
We had a huge event up north in Wolfeboro that we hosted and in the process I was able to meet some really cool people. One being a guest, Bill Marriott. I had the chance to sit down and interview him for a little piece we are doing.
Don’t worry I didn’t freak out! I have only worked in travel my whole life…so he is like a celebrity to me. I usually stay at Marriott so we had many things to discuss. But the interview was about his involvement in the LDS church and his contributions to this area where he has a summer home.
I found him to be genuine and interesting. His daughter, who works in public affairs with me… set me up. Big thanks to her….she is a huge resource to our organization and a God send.
Here is Bill with his wife at our VIP reception.
My husband attended our event and I loved that he was there supporting it.
There was a lot of prep that went into this Communit. We started 6 months ago and had a huge turnout for the main event and a great VIP reception for local community folks involved in the arts.
We honored some local people who have made a difference in the arts. It was fascinating to me them as well.
Overall, I am glad it is over…it was a lot of work for summertime….but I really can tell you that things ended up coming together against the odds.
Now on to another event that we are covering this weekend. We have Elaine Dalton, General Young Women President from the church visiting our young women from 5 states.
