Noah’s little league team won the 11/12 championship for Bedford and he was named to the All-Star Team this week. This team was packed with five-all stars and the competitors had at least 5 themselves, so it was an even match.
It was quite a nail biter as it came down to the wire in the 6th inning.
To get to the finals, my left handed batter, hit a walk off home run to win the quarter finals. That was a huge turning point and gave us momentum. Unfortunately, in the final game he had a couple of points with a single and triple hit but no home runs. The team, Sales Edge was awesome and gave us a run for the money.
Noah is a risk taker but it drives us crazy in baseball, for instance, he will steal when it so close and barely slide to be safe. Parents are screaming, I am dying and we all just freak out.
This was the one team, I felt like I only knew a few players on and they were the All-Stars that we had played with before. Our All-Star team this summer is the same group of kids from last year.
There is something so magical about Little League baseball. I love the obsessed parents right there on it, the determined coaches, the games every night. But what I love most is the mystical hope that lies deep within young boys who think they can make it to the major leagues. It is the American dream and desire, it is hot dogs, snack shacks and dirty uniforms.
Classic if you ask me!
