1. A tad bit exaggerated, but no joke this is what the sky looked like one afternoon when I walked out to water my miserable garden.
I almost felt that heaven was bursting through the clouds. I stopped, pondered my life and thought of the power of the creation and then grabbed my iPhone…yep in that order!
2. Now for the real creation……I am revamping my weedy front bed near the house.
I am so tired of the weeds, that I am laying down landscape paper prior to the mulch and yanking out all of my perennials and moving to other locations. Nothing like trying to maintain a ton of landscape with no help but two boys who have little interest.
Note Chase in the side corner of the photo- beyond thrilled…..required to help.
3. Yesterday was the final harp recital of the season with Hillary wrapping it up playing a melody of Les Miserable with 6 other harpist, one currently is a harp prodigy and absolutely amazing. At the performance, one of the students from Juliard also performed. It has been a great year for Hillary playing harp. Harp is a must for anyone musically talented, it is literally the sound of angels.
The program is the closest match to how I feel we should eat and matches the recommendations for health that our religion advocates. I have just been so confused on all of the conflicting arguments out there and the people who I know who follow this plan are some of the healthiest I know.
It has been painful to switch to 90% vegetable, fruits and whole grains all day when you are used to eating crap.
Let’s be honest, it isn’t all crap….I am used to eating all of those things but 90% of the time hasn’t been in my schedule. You have to have a heaping helping of legumes and nuts and seeds. I have been adding flax seeds to my green smoothies.
Take a look at my breakfast today.
I went one straight week, lost 3 pounds until I had a cheese break down yesterday. Great start!
I definitely know that I have a few addictions.
I have got to work on my cheese consumption…darn it!
You are supposed to totally get rid of dairy and meat or limit it to 12 oz a week, so I am going to try to keep that into perspective.
I think it is hard when you usually don’t cook so healthy.
I am going to blog more on Eat to Live….later this week! Now, I am going to eat my green smoothie….yum!
