Hillary was awarded another scholarship this year from the Bedford Lion’s Club for $1500.00.
They hosted her at a dinner two weeks ago with the other winners.
The Lion’s Club was fantastic and very welcoming! We appreciated the opportunity to mingle with them and we appreciate the scholarship they provided her.
She is waiting on one more scholarship before the year is up.
She has had a successful run this year winning the
Service Scholarship at USU
The NASA/PSNH Award and
The Bedford Lions Club
Distinguished Women of NH Talent Award- Harp
Distinguished Women of NH Fitness Award
She was nominated for the Coca Cola All Academic Team and The Jack Cooke Kent Scholarship from her college. These two nominations were the biggest honors from her college.
Since being nominated for the national teams above, she received many full ride scholarships valued upwards of 50,000 to several schools across the nation, but none of them interested her. I personally didn’t want to see her ship off to Mississippi or Tennessee.
She will indeed graduate 1 year early from high school and will have earned the associates degree this fall.
She leaves to China with International Language Program in January for 5 months. Crying already- my baby is all grown up headed for China! (-Mulan)
We are really happy that she picked the China option over going straight to college, since she will turn 18 this summer and is still so young. She has plenty of time to live in the dorms and finish her final 2-3 years of college.
This fall, she has deferred he USU Scholarship and entrance and will also apply to BYU in Provo.
In the end of the application season, she decided against the Wake Forest application- You can read about our trip to the campus here. Wake didn’t take any of her credit and at a price tag of $56,000 she would be drowning in student debt.
The goal at this home is to graduate debt free.

Or if you are sick of reading this…listen to her play the harp while our Mission president sang during a rehearsal at our home. This was heaven on earth.
