I couldn’t resist posting a few shots about how perfect my day was in NYC last Friday. Every ounce of it was visual, relaxing and just dang fun to photograph. This ended up being my favorite photo of the trip.
After my big day of walking in NYC, Brian met me at the theater at 10:30pm and talked me into a date for a couple of romantic hours….not to bought to do! This was a big deal for me because I go to bed super early and anything past 10:30pm will throw me off for a month. I need at least 8 hours every single night to function on any time.
But who cares I was in New York City and Brian was taking me to the top of the Empire State Building. I am not one for touristy, crowded places so it was late night or bust.
I elected to walk versus a taxi because the weather was great and New York is fantastic at night.
We walked by Grand Central and I was quick to pull out the iPhone and take the next couple of shots.
We passed by the New York Public Library….so darn beautiful!
Even more fun was watching a Gala taking place inside and seeing press outside photographing whoever famous was in attendance.
We made it to the Empire State Building and it was slightly empty, with only a hundred of our fellow tourist from other countries up there with us.
This was my view at 11:30pm- breathtaking! And to be honest, being there with Brian made it all the way better.
We have been married 20 years this year and this was one of the things we wanted to do to celebrate the occasion.
See Brian called me on a pay-phone on top of the Empire State Building and also photographed himself holding a photo of me when we were engaged 20 summers ago.
Isn’t that sweet? Darn sweet if I say so myself!
I loved the view from every direction. I had never been to the top, but I had been to the top of the World Trade Center 25 years ago with my dad.
Tonight, was definitely a night to remember!
